Information about cancelled flights due to Lufthansa strike

Pilots’ strike – Lufthansa come up with special flight schedule and complete information for their passengers.

Due to a strike which has been announced by the pilots union “Vereinigung Cockpit” (VC) from 22 February to 25 February 2010 Lufthansa is expecting this to influence its flight operations.

To offer passengers the best planning security currently possible, Lufthansa has put together a special flight schedule that shows the flights that will be operated based on the information the company has at the moment. Lufthansa will constantly adapt all bookings according to the most recent information available.

Wherever possible passengers will be rebooked on alternative flights. The current status of your bookings can be viewed online “My Booking”.

What can I do if my international flight is cancelled?

Lufthansa will make every effort to book you on an alternative flight, subject to timetable and available capacity. Contact a Lufthansa ticket desk in time for amending your travel documentation.

If your flight is cancelled as a result of strike action and you decide to call off your trip, Lufthansa will offer a refund on your Lufthansa ticket* or rebooking you on a flight at a later date free of charge.

If the flight you have booked is cancelled and there is no alternative flight booked, yet, you should contact the Lufthansa Service Center in Germany on +49 / (0)800 / 8 50 60 70 or on one of their local phone numbers.

My flight is not cancelled, can I rebook my journey even though?

If you have booked a Lufthansa Flight for the travel dates between 22nd and 25th of February but prefer to change your journey to another date, Lufthansa is offering one free of charge rebooking to another Lufthansa flight before 31st of May 2010 under the condition that origin and destination remain unchanged.

What care services will I receive from Lufthansa if my flight is delayed or cancelled?

In line with EC Regulation No. 261/2004 we will provide services such as meals and refreshments, two free telephone calls/faxes/e-mails and hotel accommodation if necessary.

My transfer baggage could not be forwarded on the alternative flight /train. Who should I contact?
